Summary

A dramatic and powerful novel that explores the gray space between truth and perception.
Cheater. Traitor. Slut.
Quinn’s done the unthinkable: she kissed a guy who is not Carey, her boyfriend. And she got caught. Shunned by everyone she knows, Quinn loses her friends, her reputation, and her identity. Because Carey’s not just any guy—he’s a Marine who’s serving overseas, and beloved by everyone in their small, military town.
But Quinn didn’t cheat. She could clear her name, but that would mean revealing secrets she’s vowed to keep—secrets that aren’t hers to share. So she stays silent, and waits for Carey to come home.
My review
Sophie Topper Quinn, she is sometimes called Sophie, sometimes Quinn or Q that she's not quite sure who she is anymore. Her situation is very unacceptable. I wanted to save her from every one. She is mentally courageous. She doesn't give a crap about what anyone says and I think that it's so brave of her to ignore everything, to think that everything is going to be okay. I personally don't know if I could be as fearless as her. I love and respect her for not doing anything stupid like suicide after all that she'd been through.
Carey is Sophie's boyfriend. Everyone thinks she cheated on him. He disappeared and everyone thinks he's dead. Carey was described a little bit in the beginning of the story. I don't have much to say about his character.
Blake, I hated him because he didn't do anything to help Quinn. I mean he did try to save her from the insults she'd been receiving but I didn't think he didn't try hard enough.
I hated Quinn's girlfriends. You can't just hate someone right away without hearing what the victim has to say. They didn't even let Quinn explain. They would've just told her that what she did was wrong and stop talking her rather than insult her endlessly.

This book was a nice and emotional read. It's not that long I'm sure anyone could read this book in a day. The story is very dark. It's one of the books that will probably make you cry. I teared up while reading this. It's not really my type of story just because it's sad and there are some parts of the books that made me really feel bad and really emotional for Quinn. It's tragic and Quinn's experience was just awful. It's not a book that you can read after a very bad day. I don't regret reading this book because I liked the change and I like the fact that it includes very serious subjects that happens in real life. I most of the time read happy love stories and it was nice to read a different theme.

I never heard of Corrine Jackson before I received this book from my friend. I didn't know what to expect. She did a really great job of writing. The story is very dark and I like how she kept it mysterious from the beginning till the near end. I loved the suspense and I am so glad I read this book.
