Summary:
Since her sister's death, twenty-year-old Paisley Donovan, who shares her sister’s heart condition, is treated like delicate glass by her parents. But nothing will stop her from completing her Bucket List—even if it kills her. And it almost does, until Jagger Bateman pulls her from the ocean and breathes more than air into her lungs—he sets her soul on fire.
Jagger is enrolled in the country's toughest flight school. He's wickedly hot, reckless, and perfect for a girl looking to live life to the fullest. Except that Paisley is the commanding general's daughter, and her boyfriend is Jagger's biggest rival. Now Paisley must decide just how much to risk for a guy who makes her heart pound a little too hard.
They're flying through dangerous territory—and one wrong move could make them crash and burn...
My review:
OMG. OMG. OMG.
I CAN'T EVEN...THE FEELS!!!
*Breathe,Rochelle, Breathe*
"She was enchanting. Enchanting? Just start spouting poetry and shit while you're at it."Scrolling down my news feed on facebook like every other night and saw this...
Wait. That caught my attention. Then, I read what Rebecca Yarros wrote and found out she was giving away 10 copies of her ebook so I decided to enter because why the hell not? The guy in the pic was hot and the quote was tempting. Did I just say that? Yes, I did. Though, I didn't expect to receive a copy because I rarely win giveaways. I just had a feeling I would...
I was happy I won and now I'm REALLY GLAD I won because I got the chance to read a wonderful love story that I probably wouldn't have known if I didn't win the giveaway. And by the way, It's not even the love scenes that made me love this book, it's much more than that.
"She was going to rip me apart. And I was going to let her."
I read the summary before I read the book because I had no idea what was the story about. The summary didn't really match what I predicted in my head and it didn't really match the quote in the pic so I ignored the summary and just go with the flow.
And Paisley? I loved her so damn much. I loved how honest she was and how she was commited to Will. She was great except when it comes to her heart condition, she could be really stubborn but I enjoyed reading the fight scenes, I think it was necessary and brought more debt to the story. She and Jagger were really cute together I can't even describe their connection without squeaking ahhh!
...This book blew my mind, touched my heart, made me smile, made me laugh, made me squeak, made me shout... Who am I kidding? This book was FANTASTIC! Why is this book not on the best selling list? Someone tell me why. If you didn't know already, I love NA and my favorite author is Abbi Glines. If she's a best selling author, I think Rebecca Yarros will be too if she keeps writing stories like this one. No kidding. You might think I'm exaggerating but I'm not lying. No one forced me to write a review, Rebecca Yarros didn't give me a copy of this book so I can read and review it. As you can see, other people loved it too, so go pick it up, it's only 0.99$. You never know, when more people read this and it gets more and more popular, the price might go up and you'll regret not buying it while it was cheaper. Trust me, it's worth reading.
"Sometimes there are things bigger, greater than yourself, and I'm sorry that you haven't found that yet. But I have.Jagger was not the man I expected him to be. I mean, physically yes but it was his personality that surprised me and won my heart. When I saw that image on facebook and read that quote, I expected him to be dominant, mean at first but when he meets the girl, he'll change. But I was wrong and I'm glad. He was such a nice guy right from the start, very smart and I just didn't see him as a player at all. I loved everything about him. I loved that he played hockey because I'm a HUGE hockey fan. Oh, yeah...The only thing I didn't like is the part where he wore a Boston bruins hat if I remember correctly because I hate the bruins...I'm a HABS fan so you get the thing if you're a hockey fan too. I also liked the fact that he wanted to go to school. Guys who takes their studies seriously are hard to find.
I loved all the other characters: Morgan, Josh, Grayson and Ember, they were such good friends to Jagger and Paisley. I knew from the beginning William Carter was a nice guy, maybe he was just mean because he was jealous of Jagger but other than that, he was a really nice friend and boyfriend.
I could say I loved everything and this book was perfect but there is one tiny little thing I have to criticize and that's Paisley's mom. She was so annoying! Like at one point I thought she was going to change her mind but damn, she was so stubborn!
I never expected to love this book as much as I LOVE it right now. I didn't even hesitate when I had to rate it on Goodreads, If I could give it a 10 out of 5 stars, I would. I loved how it started, how it happened and how it ended. I admire the author Rebecca Yarros for writing such an impeccable love story. I didn't have any question after I read it. Do I want more? Yes, I want more stories like this. I definitely recommend this book to all NA/Romance fans! So, What are you waiting for? Buy the ebook!
About the author:
Rebecca Yarros is a hopeless romantic and lover of all things chocolate, coffee, and Paleo. In addition to being a mom, military wife, and blogger, she can never choose between Young Adult and New Adult fiction, so she writes both. She’s a graduate of Troy University, where she studied European history and English, but still holds out hope for an acceptance letter to Hogwarts. Her blog, The Only Girl Among Boys, has been voted the Top Military Mom Blog the last two years, and celebrates the complex issues surrounding the military life she adores.
When she’s not writing, she’s tying on hockey skates for her kids, or sneaking in some guitar time. She is madly in love with her army-aviator husband of eleven years, and they’re currently stationed in Upstate NY with their gaggle of rambunctious kiddos and snoring English Bulldog, but she would always rather be home in Colorado.
